Through New Jersey Home Performance with Energy Star Program (NJHPwES) FLC can perform FREE COMPREHENSIVE HOME ASSESSMENTS for eligiable RESIDENTIAL single or 2-4 family homes throughout
NEW JERSEY.
Services included
- High-Efficiency Lighting
- Replacement of inefficient refrigerators and freezers
- Heating system upgrades
- Insulation and air sealing
- Health and Safety testing to ensure the home is properly ventilated
Additional benefits include:
Funding is available for oil, propane, and municipal electric customers who wish to participate in the Home Performance with ENERGY STAR Program.
The funding will be available until June 30, 2012 or until the funds are fully exhausted, whichever comes first.
Single-Family home Eligibility Requirements:
Single family homes and townhouses, and residential buildings of 2-4 units (individual living spaces) are eligible for the Home Performance with ENERGY STAR Program. A townhouse is a single-family
dwelling unit constructed in groups of three or more attached units in which each unit extends from foundation to roof and with open space on at least two sides.
NJ Urban Enterprise Zones now are eligible for HPwES:
All NJ residential dwellings that meet the above criteria, including those located in one of the 25 municipalities designated as NJ Urban Enterprise Zones
(listed below), are eligible to participate in the NJ Home Performance with ENERGY STAR Program as of October 1, 2011.
NJ Urban Enterprise Zones:
Bayonne, Camden, Carteret, East Orange, Elizabeth, Gloucester City, Guttenberg, Hillside, Irvington, Jersey City, Kearny, Mount Holly, New Brunswick, Newark, North Bergen, Orange, Passaic, Paterson,
Pemberton, Perth Amboy, Plainfield, Roselle, Trenton, Union City, and West New York.
Getting Started:
Home Assessment/Energy Audit: To be eligible for HPwES incentives, a homeowner must have a home assessment (audit) performed by a certified contractor.
